GRAND ESTATE

HANCOCK PARK, CA

This landscape is a nod to the character and history of a bygone era while embracing today’s wide variety of garden plant species available in Southern California. A grove of olive trees in formality anchor the front landscape guiding the sightline up and out. Moving through the garden, the story builds and expands with fanciful details. The pond is rich with wildlife habitats including fish, dragonflies, aquatic plants and a visiting blue heron. A predominantly green palette of plantings coexist with traditional boxwood, spiraling topiaries, revelations of soft aloes, giant bird of paradise, Hong Kong orchid tree’s, and soft succulents.
